Wheel Themes?

Can anyone give me an overview on how to make a wheel theme (similar to this one)?

I tried making each "slice" a separate button with a different background for the hover state, but after I export it the edges are pretty jagged despite the anti-alias and quality settings. I also can't seem to get the icons to rotate, though I can live without that.

Exporting from Composer. The curves always end up looking very jagged on the phone even though the graphic files look good.

Watch out for gradient transparencies. They come out terrible on the phone. Haven't had problems with edges though.
