ok, it worked for a little while.
i think maybe the lockscreen for some reason undid it.
but they are not showing up at all now.
I tried a pull

More than likely it is the OS causing this, and if it isn't an official OS, thats your culprit.

Its deff a official os. i dont bother with hybrid/leaked os's. too many potential problems.
i followed your tut exact, im pretty sure. lol
i tried it twice with no avail

So when you lock it, and unlock it, it doesnt show up again?

i think thats when it first happened.
i know it worked, then after an hour or so i checked my phone again and it wasnt showing anything, but i actually had new mail.

OK, this is what I came up with.

When you moved it left to right to make it thin, instead of making it as thin as possible, give some gap to the sides but not enough where another indicator can fit.
