Shortcuts don't work, idiotcheck please?

First time I've tried editing themes today, can't get custom keyboard shortcuts to function *at all*. Please could someone check my setup in case I'm missing something blazingly obvious?

BB 9780 handset (german model with QWERTZ keyboard)
Theme Builder 6 beta 2
Windows 7 home premium 64bit

Added SVG file in Theme Editor, clicked 'Preview Theme on Blackberry', loads without error but shortcuts don't do anything. have also tried the blackberry simulator with same result.

OS6... i think you need to disable the universal search.

Yep Universalsearch is disabled and the standard BB shortcuts all work normally (except C which for some reason locks the phone instead of Composing)

on the BlackBerry you need to press SHIFT C etc normally, not just C

Are you building a BlackBerry6 theme or a custom6 theme?

Hotkeys will not work in a BlackBerry6 theme, but they will work in a custom6 theme.

No, I have no idea why that is.
