You will either need to pay for a monthly hosting service or design and host it yourself.

I don't think you want to control the purchase so that they can only download a theme once. As much as you don't want others to distribute your theme they bought, it would be a major pain to apply that practice. What happens when they wipe the phone and want to redownload the theme or they switch to a different BB? Will they have to buy it again? If so, that will probably be the last time you will sell to them. If you think you will provide a link to that person when you get a request, you will be spending a lot of your time managing this.

Besides, IMO the % of people who share a link/theme is extremely low to a point where it's negligible.

All that aside, the biggest reason to use Mobihand is because of marketing. If you build your own site and sell your theme there only, I doubt you will get many shoppers visiting your site as they visit Mobihand. Remember, if you build the best theme in the world but no one knows how to find it it won't sell.

Did Mobihand tell you why they are not granting you an account? I would work with them to resolve this and get an account there, especially when you are just starting out.

That's actually the same case as me. I just told them I will be selling the themes on Mobihand only for now and sent them the theme info that I wanted to sell.
They granted the approval after that, was quite easy actually. So I suggest you send them an email explaining your situation.

Just send them an e-mail (replay to the one you got) with a screen shot of your theme and type out your theme info including price, devices supported and description. They have you approved in no time.

For a private person, your tax ID number should be your Social Security number. Give Mobihand a call and confirm.

That is, if you are in the U.S.
