Default Porting to other devices/screen size

So I've made my theme for a 9700/9780 OS 6 and will now need to port it onto other models. My concern is that it might lag more on other, older models and I will need to remove features (all the OS 6 simulators lag on my computer, so they don't help).

It seems that these devices all generally have the same 624 mHz processor, so would it be safe to say that I can port it onto other models and expect them to run the same as on my 9700 and not have to worry about lag issues?

Has anyone had any problems with this?

Thanks

Yes, I know. That's what I mean by porting...making the changes necessary so that the other model can use it.

My question had to do with lag, not size.

You would have to remake the entire Theme.
They ARE different. For example. The curve OS6 themes icons are 68 by 68 while the Bold are 70 by 70 and the others(torch, pearl, Style) are (I think) 80 by 80.

There really isn't an option to port them.
Its just remaking them.

I don't think you understand...I'm talking about LAG. As in how smooth everything is. Did you read my posts at all? I may be new to themes and blackberries in general, but I know may way around making one. What I don't have is the ability to rely upon the simulators - others do. And THEY can answer my simple question.

um no thats wrong, curve 9300 os6 icons are 52*50, 9780 are 68*68 and 9100 are 72*72.

to answer the question, there is no real answer, its totally different for each theme, id say post a pic in the forums and ask for testers on that device if you dont trust your sims.

Lag will depend upon the new theme and SVG files created for the new dimensions and OS. Lag will be dependent upon the amount of free memory on the phone. Your theme will play a role in that since icon sizes use of default images will change from model to model and thus theme size.

But in general, behavior should be about the same for phones with the same cpu AND memory specs.

Alright, thanks!
I guess I shouldn't be too concerned since it runs perfectly on my phone and it's under a megabyte. Is OS 5 really slower? I upgraded my phone right away to OS 6 so I wouldn't know...plus, my OS 5 simulator runs fine on my computer but not the OS 6.

OS5 should run fine if it runs okay on OS6.
I can see only s few OS 5 Devices running badly.
And Yes I know I was wrong sorry haha, Thanks for correcting me.

Like.. Maybe the 8330 would lag, but most themes on OS5 don't lag, (When I used to have OS 5 none ever really lagged on me)

(Sorry for before I had trouble understanding what you meant)

you have to make the whole theme again if you made it for os6 480x360 and want it to work on os5 480x360 and you get load of bugs and errors when importing to a os5 device

shortcuts equals bugs!

the theme wont be any slower on o5 than os6 doesnt really matter
