Default Please, Please help, having the same problem in Composer..

Ok, I am just trying to make a 6 icon bottom dock theme, I have read/watched multiply threads/videos on it, I swear I am following them to the T! My problem is after I align each icon, edit them so they have a background and focus behind them. I make sure that they are activated when they are supposed to be on the right time. The svg is finished in composer and I make sure everything is working like its supposed to be. Then, I save it and export it. When I open it in theme builder (whether it be Plazmic or blackberry) and test it on the simulator none of the normal under lays or focus under lays show up, just the icons.. Same thing when I install it on my BB. I love making themes but this has been haunting me since day 1! Can someone please explain to me how to fix this!? Thank you so much!

If you're making a simple 6 icon bottom dock you don't really need to use composer . You can just use theme builder , by default 6 icons will fit perfectly . Hope that helps

That I do know, thank you though. I am trying to put specific normal/focus underlays for the homescreen. When I try they don't even appear on my phone or the simulator, idk what I am doing wrong there.. I want to learn how to do this in composer because I am making custom themes with smaller banners n docks.. Anyone else know??

Does this help?

How do you enable focus overlay icons for all apps in composer?

Well i looked @ that before but once i start messing with the codes i get really confused.. I noticed that you made an SVG example for it, would you be able to make one of those for the 8330, that's what i have.. i don't know if i am just missing something simple or if this is actually a problem that other people have as well.. thank you for your help though..

Actually, could you post your svg? Maybe we can spot the problem.

I'll take a look at it today. By the way... what OS are you running on the 8330? If I'm not mistaken, I think there's a limit to the number of icons/images/animations/something that some OSs on the 83xx series can handle.

I wouldn't be surprised if what you're trying to do is impossible because of OS and/or device limitations.

BUT... I really don't see the underlays in your svg code. Do you see them when you load the svg in Theme Builder? (before launching the simulator?)

Also - check the /images folder and see if the underlays exist there. If so, what are the file names?

Well I know its not impossible because i have downloaded themes of the exact same nature, anyway yeah when i load the SVG into theme builder (whether its Plazmic or Blackberry) and it shows up just as its supposed to. but when i load it on my BB (whether it be via Desktop Manager or Theme Builder) it never shows up.. I use simple underlay icons, as a matter of fact i use the underlay icons in the sample folder for Theme Builder.. I really am stumped.. I have repeatedly watched the videos on Matt Ginsberg | Web and Graphic Designer | Blackberry Theme Developer and he is very thorough in his tuitorals. I hope we can figure this out... thanks again though for spending time to try and help me... is it possible for you to create a simple 6 bottom dock in composer with the precision underlays and post it for me? then i could load it and check everything out to see if i can find my mistake... that would be sooo cool if you could!

Quick and dirty svg attached. I've also included the cp file.

I'm not used to icons other than 80x80 size, so I apologize if I didn't get the icons sized properly for your device.

It should work if anything is going to work, but I don't have a simulator for the 8330 installed, so I haven't tested it.

Good luck!

It has already been exported. Do not load it in composer and export again. Just load the svg I provided directly into Theme Builder. (The cp file I included is not necessary. I included it for reference and in case you wanted to make changes.)

Try again with the original svg I attached and see how it looks.
