Default Plazmic - Help!

Greetings!

I've just installed Plazmic, and have been playing around with it.

Couple of questions, and forgive me if they have been dealt with before - did a search and found no help.

1. Is it possible to edit a default or downloaded theme? For instance, I use verizons default theme, with a different wallpaper. I am comfortable with, and like the icons, but it would be nice to make some minor changes, including changing the "incoming call" screens background. Is this possible? Also, if I download a theme to pc, anyway to convert the file into a .thm format, so as to edit in plazmic?

2. Starting a new theme, is there any way to get rid of icons from the banner? For instance, I have a verizon 8330, which does not have wifi. Can I remove the wifi icon from the banner screen in plazmic?

Thanks for any assist, and I'm sure I will be back for more help...

1. Nope. You need to recreate it.

2. Some indicators can be hidden (but wifi indicator isn't one of them). I wouldn't worry about it. Put it somewhere out of the way. Since you don't have wifi, it won't appear on your phone when you install the theme.

Like VeryBold said, I don't think you can remove the 'wifi' icon with Plazmic, but it should never show up if you don't have wifi.

As far as editting a downloaded or default theme, I have been able to open sample themes and edit them. These sample themes are in your Blackberry folder.

Go to My computer > Local Disk (C > Program Files > Blackberry > Samples > Themes > Then you open one of them in Plazmic and make changes.

I haven't tried making changes to a theme I've downloaded from a site so I'm not sure about that, but that's the closest I've been able to come to with making changes to already-made themes.

Good luck!

Thanks so much for your assist.

Progress is being made, and I have my first test theme on my curve...

I'm learning as I go along, and it's all very exciting.

Need to learn how to make my own icons, next!

i see that you have downloaded plazmic and your new at this as well. I have been trying to figure out how to download Plazmic but am stuck on the right version. I know the screen size is important but is the program designed around my phone ( 8220 - flip) or the operating system (v4.6.0.174), or both. I have been on the Plazmic web site but i am stuck as to which one to download

Go ahead and download and install the latest Plazmic (ver 4.6).

When you open the application to start a new theme, you select which screen size (in other words, which model phone) you are making the theme for. You can use Plazmic to make themes for different screen sizes (i.e. different phones).

Have fun!!

From the theme builder, you want to export. You have the option for an OTA install (JAD) or desktop (ALX). Word of caution: the OTA install usually requires a small config file to the web server in order to work. (It's a web server thing not a plazmic issue)
