Please make a theme that makes the top banner with the time, carrier name, wifi signal, etc smaller in height.
Thanks

Big huge huge thanks to everyone working on this and sharing their info. Seriously...
So... USERS can hack their way into building themes, but RIM cant figure out how to release a theme builder for OS 7? ... everyday i regret my loyalty a little bit more.

Wow guys! Nice going! I'm a bit late to the game here as I've just not had time of late to read the forums everyday. Seeing as Morph and Reflex were 100% hand coded SVG (I didn't use TB at all for the home screens) it might not be too much work to get Morph running on my 9850.
Russ.

I am sure you are aware russnash, for those of you who aren't. If you code your svg in composer or hand code your own, you should STILL add it to Theme Builder as it will export it to the homescreen.svg for you in its own layer, in the correct position, even if it doesn't fit the ThemeBuilder window properly.(ie: OS7 Themes) Code: <g id="homescreen_svg_portrait">
<svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg" height="100%" id="9810" preserveAspectRatio="xMidYMid meet" viewBox="-240 -320 480 640" width="100%" xml:space="default" xmlns:pz="http://www.plazmic.com/plazmic_extents" xmlns:xforms="http://www.w3.org/2002/xforms" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg http://www.plazmic.com/svg/schema/svg.xsd">
<g id="Layer_1">
<!-- pz:tag type="layer" -->
<rect height="49" id="Rectangle_1" style="fill:#333333; stroke:#000000; stroke-width:1;" transform="translate(7.72532) scale(1.03219 1)" width="466" x="-240" y="-320"/>
<rect height="30" id="Rectangle_2" style="fill:#333333; stroke:#000000; stroke-width:1;" transform="translate(1.51883 39.3333) scale(1.00628 0.866667)" width="478" x="-242" y="295"/>
</g>
</svg>
</g> like so.
I only added 2 rectangles in the example, but you get the point.
Just add that G id " <g id="homescreen_svg_portrait">" to the bottom of your homescreen.svg & you wont need to mess with moving anything from YOUR handcoded svg manually.
Should save "some"time.
Here is what it will look like in TB.

Russ. | no thank you, you were part of the soloution with yuour handcoding theme
although im not sure for 9850 as theres no aspect ratio equald theme right now for it, although maybe it would work just changing the banner sizes? im not sure, but i dont have one to test, hence me sticking to only the 9900 for now lol

I should have something for the 9810 in the next few days.
The 9810 sim is being a PITA. Once I get that to load fully, It will be clear sailing....

Another trick I have used making the 9810 theme to speed things up.
1- After I have the custom SVG to my liking. I load up a 9700 theme. I place the clock/date/etc on the banner where I want it.
2- I export it and take those from the homescreen svg in /tmp....
3- I add those to MY homescreen svg replacing the ones present(cutting down ALOT of time in positioning)(You only need to move them vertically) being that the 9700 is also 480 wide. Sidenote:
While I havn't tried this, I would bet using the 9700's banner.svg...lockscreen.svg & such would be a big time saver for the 9810 themes as well

Anyone care to take a look at my properties files? i can't seem to get the theme to load up on a 9900 or 9790 os7.0.528 device. I can load and export the 9900 theme from TB and i also took a look at the jad, xml and theme manifest and it does list 7.0 but when i try to open it on the device it doesn't show up in the themes list, only the applications list.
I've noticed that there are a few discrepancies between the blog post and the instructions from Molson0, not sure if they make any difference? i've tried both.
anyone else try a non-BB6 style theme? as in a custom layout?
Thanks!
here's a link to blackberry docs that lists some of the icon dimension and screen res, docs . blackberry.com/en/developers/deliverables/36510/BlackBerry_Smartphones-UI_Guidelines-T893501-1890396-1111113838-001-7.1_Beta-US .pdf

Woot! just got it loaded, i guess i was trying to load a 9900 theme on a 9790 device, did not work..as it should i'd imagine.
This brings up another question, Would the same method of adding the appropriate property files for other OS 7 device work?
i'm a coding noob so that's why i'm asking.
thanks!
