call screens aren't done via svg in OS7 and beyond. (so RIM has proclaimed)
You will never be able to do it.

| | Export for OTA
Hi there,
Thanks for the instructions, got it all working
I want to create an OTA file so I can post on App World. Can I do this when running the build.bat file, or do I need to export at the Theme Builder stage? I don't have a 9900 phone, so can only test with a sim (ie by exporting "Publish for Desktop Manager") before following the other instructions, so want to be sure on how to create a theme as an OTA before I start.
Many thanks,
D

| | OTA Publishing
quick bump - to process as an OTA file, can you do this at the build.bat stage or do you need to do in theme builder? thanks

i dont know what you mean.
If you want to submit to appworld, make jad, cod, alx false, make zip true.
to put it on the simulator before uploading to appworld (as there will be MANY issues) export either as cod or jad, then load em on to the sim.

thanks for the response molson, i set zip to true earlier but noticed that the zip file only contained one large cod rather than multiple small ones which i'm guessing won't work on appworld, hence wondering if i needed to export as an OTA from appworld. hope this makes sense |

it should contain the same number of cods that would be exported had you chosen jad=true.
Anyways, you can just export jad=true, then upload the cod files to appworld if you need to do it that way.

A: in the build.properties file, line 7 relates to desktop exports, line 8 for zip file exports (appworld export) and line 9 relates to jad export.
for OTA export you would set the Alx as false, and the Jad as true. then run the build.bat file as per normal. | that should help you with figuring out which line does what.
in all reality, a zip is simply a zipped alx export but without the alx loader file.
for appworld you can a) use the .cod from an alx export b) use the multiple cods from a .jad export c) use the .zip export.
it really doesnt matter which you use in appworld, if you upload one large cod, then appworld will split it down to multiple small cods (max 54kb i think) itself.

| | Background Image
Hi there,
My background images doesn't seem to change when i load an 0s7 theme into the sim - all my icons and other bits change, not sure what i'm doing wrong.
i take the background file out of the temp folder along with everything else, change it back to a 640x480 keeping the same name, run the build.bat file and as i said everything works apart from the background image doesn't change.
any ideas?
thanks! | | | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | | | |
