Default Increase third party icon size

Does anyone know how to increase the icon size of a third party icon on homescreen? I've read Matt Ginsbergs' tutorial on how to reduce the size of an icon in composer, however, when I do the opposite to try and increase size, it has no effect.

What I am hoping to do is create a larger icon for the berryweather slot on a theme I am working on. I know it has to be possible as the basic icon size needed for berryweather icons is 256x256 (suggested icon size for berryweather's new feature to create your own weather icons).

I've tried changing the image bitmap in compser to a larger size, tried manually scaling the icon size in composer, now thinking about looking over SVG to see if I can find somewhere where I can override and make icons appear larger.

Could it be possible that the homescreen icon size is controlled by the app and not a theme? I know it allows you to put a freaking large homescreen icon through the wallpaper option within the app.

any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I was just looking for the same answer. Did you ever figure it out?

Thanks in advance.

Food for thought: if you increase the icon size, do you think you are going to have the same problem as the small icons? AKA they do not update regularly making it less useful for Berryweather.

the 256x256 weather icon size is for display inside the app...or on the wallpaper..

You have to scale it.

I did this on my theme Drk7.
Only problem is that the bigger you make the image...the bigger the pixels get.

you can increase the size of any icon by using a bigger scaled up 'default app' and 'default focus app' icon
edit it from the samples file

then add this bigger image in replace of the normal default app and default focus app icon in composer and then when used in the theme any icon that uses that app slot will show as the bigger size

however it will probably be mega blured and distorted
