How do you set user-defined fonts in a them?

I released a theme yesterday and received a request to make the font user-defined. I am not sure how to do this; and can it be done after the theme has already been published? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

I think this is accomplished by not touching the fonts when your building the theme. Once you designate a non default font, they are stuck with it.

I might be wrong and never tested it, but its like that for quite a few things in Theme Builder.
