Default how do i remove the new email icons

I have just had the new push icon from hotmail show up on my phone. While I wouldn't usually care I'm currently using my Dark Angel theme and the new icon just ruins it. I have done a battery pull but its still there.

So does anybody know to remove it

Hide it or move it.

I defies the point of having custom icons if a new push icon shows up that you can't get rid of so a better answer than "hide it or move it" will be appreciated

Complain to your provider and hope that they will not push it to your phone. Otherwise, hide it.

Ok I'm still looking for a better answer than hide it or remove my hotmail account because that only hides the problem and doesn't come close to fixing it and I have also heard of gmail having its own new icon aswell and its only a matter of time before that shows aswell.

Seriously does anybody have any idea about this yet.

AOL was just confirmed as having a new icon and some people have seen a yahoo icon. This isn't just a annoyance to me but will cause problems with other theme builders because this is a main icon and ruins the look of a theme.

im not sure what the problem is.. if you dont want the icon on the screen. HIDE IT. that is the only solution. There are many VZW apps that i wont use... I hide them.
What is wrong with hiding them?

We all have the same answer, hide it. You may not like the answer but it is not going to change.

I can't believe I'm going to have to explain this.

I AM NOT GOING TO HIDE MY EMAIL ICON!

Receiving email is a large part of having a blackberry so hiding the icon is just a very stupid answer and one I never asked for. Don't bother saying just use messages because I want to know exactly what account has received the icon so I instantly if its urgent or not.

If everybody liked the look of the standard icons there wouldn't be a theme builder. Theme builder gives you the option to make custom icons as I have. Now they are allowing new push icons that overwrite the custom ones I have, yet doesn't give you the option to remove them or in theme builder choose to change them.

All I want to know is if anybody has worked out how to either remove the new push icons or if someone has worked out a way to permanently change them in theme builder to my own icon.

I don't want to get another single reply from anybody telling me to hide it. if you haven't got anything to add move cause I'm only interest in hearing from someone who has worked out how to get around it.

With an attitude like that, no one would want to help you.

With that being said, the only way I can think of is to remove the picture of the icon, BUT I'm ONLY GUESSING, and I HAVE NOT tried this myself! I don't know if this will work, and you'll be doing it at your own risk, so just keep that in mind.

If you have a third party file manager on your BB, set it to Show hidden files. Go to Device Memory/appdata/rim/bda/icons and before doing anything, COPY those folders to your memory card so that you can replace them should anything go wrong, then just delete the icons (NOT THE FOLDERS) you want removed, and hopefully that will solve your problem. I'm assuming that those icons will be back once you resend your service books, but just copy those files to be safe anyway!

How do you get them to show up? When I upgraded the OS my Yahoo icon disappeared.
