Default Help with unresponsive buttons on Torch theme

I've created a theme for the torch and am experiencing unresponsive buttons on my homescreen which I believe are due to my SVG. I know it's not an OS issue or hardware issue as the screen is completely responsive within apps, on the application screen, etc. Also, the screen works perfectly with other themes. So I am assuming it has something to do with the optimization of the SVG I built.

What I am experiencing is a lag when I activate a hidden dock/etc. on the homescreen. Basically, none of the buttons work until I "refresh" the screen in some sort of way, which I usually do by pressing the physical menu button and then the escape button to bring me back to the homescreen, at which point the buttons in my theme then work.

Has anyone else experienced this problem and found any solutions. Your help would be much appreciated.
