Default Gaussian Blur

Hi. I've been messing around with composer to a while, and all the while I've been trying to make a gaussian blur effect with the dock. Essentially, I'm trying to get a transparent blur effect that will blur whatever the wall paper is underneath. I know I can simply blur the image THEN use it as a wallpaper, but that's not as easy for switching on the fly. I've tried it using inkscape then importing that svg into theme builder but no go. Tried importing it into composer but I'm starting to think that composer doesn't support blur effects. Can anyone provide any insight or any help to get my blur?

The blur can not be done in composer. Transparency can.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I've seen transparencies done and I've worked with it myself. I guess I didn't see it as enough, and wanted some Windows 7 aero eye candy on my blackberry.
