| | Changing a Folder Icon
Umm...I'm not sure this will help, but somehow I did change a very important folder icon called "The CON", as in "You got the Con." I am pretty sure I just used only TB 4_7. In the Inspector/Theme the Applications Icons there is an item 'Default Folder'. I put my homegrown Black icon in for Normal. For Focus, I dragged 'highlight_button' from the Catalog.
My resulting Homescreen is attached. My objective is to stamp out all dorky looking icons and get my Storm to look like a BLACKBerry! You can see this folder icon as in focus. This folder contains my Browser and all my Jonathan Fisher Storm Launchers to my Yahoo mailbox, Reuters, NASA, and Accuweather active radar.
As you can see, I'm not an artist. Check out Zain Malik's Black Glass for a more serious artistic effort. Anyhow, with a better looking pair of Normal and Focus icons, you may get what you need for your folder icon.

This is something I'm also interested in. I have a few themes that have REALLY killer icons that go to waste because I don't use them, but WOULD if I could use them on the very same folders that weldmonkey is referring to.

Well after a lot of searching I have found that you can only do what is described above for the folders...you cant customize the four originals you can just make a default folder, but then you have 4 folders that look the same...its kind of LAME!! It must have been just one of many oversites when they made TB 4.7...
There is also no way to change the Icons for wi fi and the other banner icons that TB doesnt allow you change...I have tried everything...it must be done in the codeing of the program itself...I even tried editing the ones they have in samples folder hopeing that the program just pulled them from there each time but now luck...
Somethings you just cant edit on the current version and some things you wish you hadnt, LOL...Hopefully BB will get these issues resolved in future versions..

If we could ONLY get rid of the App names BELOW each icon in the app screen, then my previous method would work. Anybody know how to get rid of these names ? Please, pretty please !

Hey, weldmonkey, I seriously appreciate your tip on how to get rid of app screen icon names. This has really helped this app screen's appearance in my Zen Telsa theme. You are right about the folders. You can play games with one or two to get nice icons on them, but you just can't get them all. I guess you could set up icons on a custom home screen and use Device Application Order to get to your folders, but this is way too much trouble.

Doctor Neutron | Yeah the only way to change the four defualt folders, is to make custom ones that are on your homescreen but this will not change them in App Views...I dont know why they left the folders out...I hope they add this in to the next version..

Knowing VZN, I'm thinking it was done deliberately with malice and forethought. You can justify almost anything under the guise of security. Hopefully they will come up with a new mechanism to allow us to develop clean themes that are uniform and homogeneous throughout.
Additionally, your tip also cleaned up my active tasks bar a bunch.
