| | Better place to discuss theme building issues?
I was wondering if there was a better forum for discussing theme building issues? I find this one, and even BB's developer forums, to be very light on activity, in particular discussions of Theme Builder issues and work-arounds. Maybe theme builders are highly private people who like to keep their solutions to themselves, or the problems I'm encountering are simple ones?
In any case, some of the things I've been dealing with using TB6 beta 2 (using the custom theme, not the OS6 theme, as a basis for the build): - Cut off icons in the banners: GPS icon, alarm icon. Although they work, the fact that they are missing their corners gives the theme a very unrefined look.
- Dial from homescreen not working the same as it does for the standard OS6 theme. When "Launch By Typing" is set to "Universal Search", the standard OS6 theme will allow you to dial from the home screen by recording the keypresses as a phone number in the universal search display. Hitting the send button at the end of the number will dial it. Using the custom theme in TB, the first keypress of the phone number is used to activate the universal search and the remaining keypresses are recorded as a phone number, but its first digit is truncated. Hitting send before dialing helps but it's an additional keypress beyond what the standard theme requires.
- White background on universal search when using the custom theme.
I know some of these items have already been identified as TB6 beta 2 bugs, just looking to see if anyone has developed any work-arounds, or if there's a better place to ask.
Thanks.

| With my latest theme, Reflex, I've started bypassing theme builder for the final export and compiling my themes by hand. This allows you to get around the cut off banner icons in OS6 themes as well as allowing you a lot more control over the homescreen if you don't mind rolling your sleeves up and digging into the SVG. I'd be happy to post a tutorial on this method if anyone is interested?
As for other theme building support areas, there are always the official blackberry developer forums.

I'll post a separate thread on this later today.

Thanks Russ for posting. I manually compiled my first theme.
Care to provide more info on how you resolved the cut-off banner icons using the SVG? I had been searching for this but haven't been able to find it.
Thanks again!

Thanks again! | Bascially, I used the following code for my gps to avoid the cutoff: Code: <image
id="thegps"
x="78"
y="331"
width="34"
height="21"
xlink:href="x-object:/GPSMode?width=34&height=21&align=center"/>

Now to figure out the dial-from-homescreen snag and I'll be all set!
Thanks again...
