Default Battery Status Icon Size ?

Hey Guys,
New to the forums, but ive heard great things about this place so i thought id ask my questions here. I searched the forums for this issue but didnt find anything, or maybee ive missed it.

Im in the process of creating a Steampunk style theme with animated gears, the works, now for the battery and signal strength indicator icons, im looking to create a Dial look as opposed to a small battery icon.
So my question is this, ive opened the icon image file for the battery and as you know it has all the states of the indicator in one image file, is it possible to change the size ? or am i stuck with the tiny size of the current icon ?

It must be possible since im currently using the "Stasis Next Gen Mechanism" Theme and if you look at his Power and Signal meters theyre significantly larger that the origional.

Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.

you can make them as big as you'd like just make sure you have the correct amount of images evenly spaced, but all in 1 image.

Does that make sense?

you will have 12 images (unplugged) on the top and 12 images (charging) on the bottom half of 1 PNG file

so if your images are 30 pixels across your images needs to be 30x12= 360pixels across

youll have to play but ull get it

I figured i could do something like that yeah, but i guess what im asking is,

if i do that, will theme builder or the blackberry OS be able to read the new image size correctly ? or will it just crop a small part of the image ? or am i able to set the boundary in the image file to tell theme builder the actual size of one of the icons in the larger image ?

Im gonna have to play around with this a little more when i get a chance.

Just remember to have the image width exactly divisible by 12 if you resize your png in any way.

I used GIMP last night to create my first battery meter. It is a little tricky at first, but once you get the hang of it, you will get it in no time. Follow the advice given above.

I used the .pdf about Theme Builder to figure it out, it can be found online, and is pretty helpful, as it tells you what the meters are, and how they are set up.

What I do is create a master image first, get its image dimension, multiply its width by 12 and height by 2. That's the final dimension of the battery image. Then copy the master image across the board and edit accordingly.

Same here.. but if its an odd shape.. I also add a black rectangle around the image. That way I can easily place one image next to the other and see right where it needs to go.
