Default "Banner" behind icons

How do I place an image behind the icons I put on the homescreen? I'm referring to how there is the semi transparent banner (for lack of better words) behind the bottom row icons on the default theme, how do I do that?

Are you talking about the icon tray that displays when the banner is selected and scrolls up?

No, like just the semi transparent strip going across the bottom of the screen behind the 6 icons?

you would create the banner - then use composer to create an SVG file.
(import the banner, put it at the bottom, export the svg)
import the svg... and viola!

HAHA!... I still have no idea what you're talking about. I am sure it will come to me when I am thinking about something else.

I tried doing that and themebuilder said that it could not load the file. Any idea why?

Is not actually a strip, it's just a bit bigger than the actual size of the icons, depending with the model of phone you are working on of course.

Create a new document on composer according to the model of the phone you are working on.

1. I like to always put a color background just to see my icons

2. Click on theme button on the left panel, (just above the little hand)

3. A small x and y cursor appear on your cursor, click on your working area

4. Select device application order

5. Now click on edit, just underneath file

you will see this image under your "objects section" usually on top right

6. Now click once under "Tab Image" and then click once on "change bitmap" on top left, just underneath File, now select that one image you'd like to include for background of your home icons.

7. Make sure you look at the 4 stages, click scene when satisfied, then copy and paste as many icons fit on your screen, depending on what you want to achieve. Save and then export

You can always look at this tutorial by Matt Ginsberg HERE
