Default Appworld vs. Mobihand

Hey guys, I was just wondering, which one is better to post up free or premium themes, Appworld or Mobihand? And do you have to pay a certain amount to get in?

That's what I thought, but Appworld only supports a few countries, and that's the main disadvantage for me. Can I do both? That would take care of my problem.

pretty much as a themer if you want to get your name out there you need to do a LOT of self promotion.

I would put it on App World, put it on Mobihand stores, post it in the CB forums and also other forums around the internet.

If you consider it to be a theme of above average build quality with great features also dont be scared to put out a small press release to some of the BB Blog sites like BerryReview and BBGeeks.

The problem about signing up with App World is, if you don't have any funds in your paypal account, nor have a credit card linked to your paypal account, you won't be able to sign up.

So basically, if you don't have a credit card, you're screwed.

Another thing, about how people will pay. I don't have a credit card, and I don't think I will get one in a few years, so that's out of the option. Is there any other way of payment?

@BBThemes, I know, but the $200 fee is only waived AFTER they have your Paypal detaills, if you understand what I mean? So, you need to have $200 or more in your account, then only afterwards the fee will be waived.

@Sabisgeek, you can use a debit card with Paypal, but it has to be a cheque account (that's how it is in South Africa, not sure about the rest of the world).

hows this for a cool thought, sell on mobihand, and they pay into your paypal, then the moneys in ya paypal. you dont `have` to have a card linked to your paypal (although this could be different in different courtries) and i only have a debit card linked, also you will of course need to have your paypal tied into your bank account to get paid (same for anything on paypal).

That's what I did!

Yeh, but like you said, in order to get paid, you need to have your bank account linked to Paypal, and the only way to do that is with a debit, or credit card.

Okay...so what I should do is that sell on Mobihand, then when I get $200 start to sell on Appworld, right?
1-Do they take money OUT of your paypal account?
2-How do you pay for their services? Is it sorta like when they take 20% off of the money you get?

Yeh, that's the best option right now.

To answer your second question; No, they don't charge you when you sign up, because it's free, BUT it's only for a limited time, which is why you still need to have $200 in your account (which is REALLY stupid if you ask me).

I'm not sure how you pay for their services though; I know with Mobihand, they take 20% to 40% of your money, depending where the sale was made.

I just completed the process of signing up for both App World and Mobihand. For App World, I do have my paypal account tied to my checking account, but I don't have $200 in either one of them. You get 10 credits (product uploads), and don't have to pay $200 until after you use those all up. For MobiHand, they take a certain percentage, depending how much the original sale is. The theme that I've put on there so far, sells for $2.99. I get $1.79 for each sale. Hope that helps!

appworld take 30%, and mobihand take 20% if thru mobihand, and 40% if thru an associated store (crackberry, berryfication etc).

realistically most people that look at what sells where will agree with me that 40% is the norm thru mobihand as most people will download the crackberry store (or another sites).

Okay...so Appworld plus Crackberry and BBOS and the original mobihand site would sound good...
Now I know that this is going off topic, but how do you decide how much to charge for your themes?
Thanks for all your help guys
