Fullscreen banner?
if you do a fullscreen banner, does that allow you to move the items anywhere.. and still allow the app icons to work normally?

I learned that with a 'full screen banner' that on the homescreen it allows me to place apps inside, or ontop of the banner. I usually do this for a weather dock. It doesn't not allow me to do this if I make a thin banner and leave the 'full screen banner' box unclicked.

In using the Full Banner option, have you noticed that on the full menu screen the icons that you have placed on the bottom block some of the full menu icons?
For example: I moved the time and message indicator to the bottom of the screen. Then when I clicked the blackberry button to take me to the full menu some of my icons were blocked by the time and message indicators.
Any one experience this issue, have any tips or advice on how to correct this issue?
Thanks!Gotta Love BlackBerry!, and I still Do!

anyone found a fix for this yet?
- 12-07-2009, 06:51 PM #13
Yes, and i found the cause.
Whenever you move the Signal Meter or Time banner elements...it drags the hot spot along with it...but instead of just following the elements and staying the size of the element, it stretches to wherever you dragged it, keeping it in the original location, and then stretching all the way to the new location, covering any other buttons in the proccess...
Does that make sense??
This just seems to be a major bug by RIM...
I just thought of a fix, and I just tested, and it works, but its quite annoying...
What you have to do is check the RENDER HOMESCREEN OVER BANNER button...and then you might notice some of your banner objects get placed behing your homescreen SVG...what you need to do then, is edit the SVG image files and "cut out" the graphic in the shape of say, the Battery Meter, so that when you place the SVG, it has a hole the shape of the battery meter, so that even tho it is layered over the homescreen, you can still see the battery meter un-hindered....
Goodluck guys.
Oh and quick edit: This method sucks, so fix this please RIMLast edited by kdjayo; 12-07-2009 at 07:02 PM.

well it makes sense, however I can't follow your "annoying" fix because I have to have images behind where the clock (in my case) is located. :-(
I would think RIM would have fixed this by now. It's getting to be ridiculous! - 12-09-2009, 02:37 AM #15
