Doctor Neutron's Black Glass Theme
I am trying to visualize colored lamps that
become activated and shine through a black
glass protector shield. Look for Zain Malik's
Black Glass theme for S1. Awesome. Controlled.
Without a doubt the best.
At the same time, I am striving for touch and
click only, no scrolling, etc. This is the
opposite of some top CEO for Apple or RIM
giving a big presentation and fumbling around
looking for some app in front of a huge crowd.
Try to look beyond my choice of apps and
my NORMAL state button choice, that is based
on actually taking a picture of one of my
PC's KYBD keys.
Each row of five buttons has the same color.
Touching a button initiates a time-dependent
FOCUS colored lamp process that the following
screen shots try to capture:

FOCUS is on a hidden button in the center, so
that all 30 main buttons are in their NORMAL
states.

Reuters has just been touched, but not clicked;
it is in FOCUS.

Reuters has been touched and the magenta "button
under black glass" is fading. Still not clicked.
Sill in FOCUS.

Reuters "button under black glass" is completely
faded away; Reuters is still in FOCUS and not clicked.

Contacts has been touched but not clicked; it is
in FOCUS. Reuters button above it is no longer
in FOCUS and is returning to NORMAL.
Capture9_58_39
Garmin just touched and is in FOCUS. Reuters has
returned to its NORMAL state. Contacts begins
its return to its NORMAL icon.

Accuweather Radar Jonathan Fisher button touched.

Cool idea, but the third party apps won't match, and for some people, that is just a deal breaker, like myself. I tried to make a text only icon theme, and I trashed it for this exact reason.
Props on the idea though.Current device: White Samsung Galaxy S III 16GB
BlackBerry history:
Verizon: 8130, 8830, 8330, 9630, 9530, 9550, 9650, 9930
AT&T: 9700, 9800

I've seen it done though; Meridian, Swag, and one I can't quite remember the name - Sword, or something similar based on the pointy look of the focus animation. Icons were on the left, similar to Swag. Text-only applied to home screen, not app screen. StaticFX pulled off a pseudo-text icon look with Tron, but that imo was more text-on icon. Still, awesome theme.
If I'm understanding Doc correctly, he's after the ability to have fading focus animation, regardless of where the icon came from. Any theme I've run has never cared what icon it's focusing, it goes ahead with it anyway. Sometimes with some fugly results depending on the icon it's focusing lol
