No. When you signed your contract, you were given a preferred rate or discounted phone in exchange for you agreeing to stay with them for 3 years. As a penalty for breaking your agreement, they have the cancellation fee in effect. If you weren't prepared to stay with them for three years, you should not have signed a contract.

Hello all,

Actually it is both. 10$ per month if you stay with Telus and 20$ per month if you leave. I am getting out of my contract and buying a torch with Telus in less than 2 weeks. It will costs me 10$ per month.

Regards,
AsianStorm soon to be AsianTorch

Good to know. Thanks...

Although I plan on staying with Telus, the Rodgers all white 9800 looks sexy...

Well i didnt have a choice because i wanted a iphone, but it got stolen. I heard there were ways if they change the terms of service i can cancel. 10$ isnt too bad but not if i have to sign with telus again.

Did they change the terms of service for you? From the little information you provided it doesn't sound like Telus did anything wrong...
