Telus social plan 45 + data usage
I just got the BB Bold 9700 on the $45 Telus social plan and was curious about a few data-related things.
First off, when I was purchasing the phone @ Best Buy and the associate was explaining to me the conditions of the plan, I asked if the Wi-Fi symbol appeared on the corner of the bb screen, if that meant that I could access the internet and no data charges would incur (b/c I'd be on wi-fi, technically) and he said "yes.. you're accessing internet via wi-fi then.."
Now, I'm a little confused. It seems to me that the symbol is almost always there.. I hope I don't sound silly or stupid, but does that wi-fi symbol actually mean that I'm in a wi-fi zone and can access the browser w/out getting charged for data usage, or is it a pure coincidence that wherever I go there just happens to be a wi-fi zone?
I know this question is kind of vague.. but I've only had the phone for a day or so.. I don't want ANY overage charges since I'm paying enough as it is.
Thoughts?
