Telus phones pricing question
Hi, I'm looking into getting a phone for my dad and had a few questions about the Telus pricing.
A lot of the smartphones give you the 3yr contract price and also says 'with a $50 plan'
My dad would really like to get a smartphone (iPhone or Blackberry or something) but after giving it some thought, I don't think he needs a $50+ plan that includes data. Wifi is more than enough for his needs and so I would rather we get a cheaper plan without data. He has wifi pretty much everywhere he goes these days.
I understand that getting a smartphone with no data plan might seem like a waste, but I just don't see any point in spending money on something that won't get used and we don't mind spending the extra money to get a nicer phone.
Where can I find out the contract pricing if we don't get a $50+ data plan? Is that even possible? I've thought about getting a $50+ plan initially and within a month or two switching down to a cheaper non-data plan. Would that be possible?
Thanks for any advice and help!
