Default Telus Optik PVR Remote app??

Hey guys,

Apparently this is a download restricted to Telus BB's, I thought maybe it was just my Rogers 9000 that couldn't get it, but my brand new Wind 9900 can't either.

Can someone on Telus, preferably with an OS 7 BB, download this app and extract it with DM so I can try installing it on my device? I'm pretty sure access isn't restricted by Telus account number (like by linking your cell and your Optik accounts), I understand that's how Bell's PVR remote app works, but Telus and Telus Mobility operate separately. I use an email address and password to access the web-based (Silverlight) PVR remote currently but obviously I can't access that on a BB.

Thanks!!!

Yeah, I think you have to be a Telus Mobility customer with almost any BB model to download it.

If someone with a Telus BB, ideally a 9900, can check it out...?

It is not available at all for the 9900 on ANY carrier including Telus. The app hasn't been updated to support OS7 yet.

Can someone with an os6 bb, maybe a 9780, see if they can download this? App hasn't been updated since August '10 so I guess I'm not surprised it doesn't support os7.

I sent an email to Telus support because I'm switching to Telus from Shaw and would like this app. I'd really hate to move to another platform for something like this.
Such a handy feature if we can get it going on OS7.
As far as if it DOES work for BlackBerry, there's quite a few reviews online stating that it does work and it's really handy.

Here's the email.... maybe if they get more requests, they would be more inclined to update it.

apps_feedback@telus.com

Wonder if we can sideload it.... hmmmm

I've installed other apps that are "for os6" and they've worked fine, and it supports the 9780 and 9800. Not sure what "sideload" means but if someone with an os6 device can download it from app world, and "unload" it to their PC via DM, I'm betting it'd work just fine.

I finally got a reply on my email, they said it was updated for the 9900 and the new curve.

I just checked on App World and it still shows the app being released in 2010. Maybe there's an update coming?

I'm sure the os5/6 version would work well enough for my purposes, if I could just download it. Although it wouldn't allow me to on my old Rogers 9000 running os5 either...

Try refreshing app world. Hold alt and press rst it will take a few seconds then shut down. Open it back up and see if the update is there

What date does yours show? App world had to do a search so it should be the most up-to-date info, it wouldn't be cached...
