Default Telus HSPA network coverage question

I'm considering moving to the HSPA network but the one thing holding me back is the gaping hole in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and west/central Ontario. Does anyone know if or when said hole will have coverage?

That's good Sask is getting coverage. While I have no immediate plans to visit the no-coverage provinces at the moment, it would suck having no service.

Might be a stupid question but what would happen in these areas? No data or no service at all?

to answer previous post.....I am from Alberta, with a 9700 on the HSPA network Went to Saskatchewan in April, NO service of any kind. No phone, data etc. The only thing that did work was the wi-fi. Good thing I was only there for a few days, I was ticked right off, but in all fairness, I did expect it, just didn't believe it until I was there

If you go to Manitoba you will roam to Rogers networks... We're still waiting here an from what I've heard we should have it in the fall... I think we're always the last one to get anything good in the country...

Well depends how you look at it, Rogers in Winnipeg had a first in North America

I know that this is a Telus thread, but since Telus and Bell are sharing the same network...

Bell Mobility - Network Coverage Map, Travel & Long Distance- Bell

Notice the "extended coverage"? This doesn't show up on Telus' coverage map, does it? I've heard that Bell made a roaming deal with Rogers so that they can use Rogers' 2G when Bell customers roam there. Does anyone think that Telus might be able to hitch their wagon to this deal as well? I sure hope so. It still might be a while before HSPA hits Saskatchewan province wide. I'm afraid that it'll be a lot longer yet before they extend coverage in Manitoba.

probably not. Telus sued Rogers over rogers claim that they were Canada's Most Dependable Network after the HSPA network launched. In my mind, Rogers would tell Telus to take a hike if they ever wanted to strike a roaming deal
