Default Replacement Storm 2

Not sure if this has been addressed before, but I have noticed the thread in the main Storm 2 forum about people getting replacement S2's b/c of a faulty screen or b/c a upgrade has been made available. Its supposed to have a green dot on the box or something.

Anyways, does this apply to us north of the boarder too and has anyone on Telus done this? I've had my S2 since Jan and one of the corners of the screen does feel a little sticky.

I just returned mine and got a refurbished one and its twice a good as my first one but i am also running os 5.0.0.517 .

Just wondering if any Telus users have purchased a used Storm 2, if so would you be able to exchange it even if you are not the original owner? I have read that you maybe could exchange them to the new updated (green dot) devices.

I have an opportunity to purchase a used Telus Storm 2 from Kijji and want to make sure I can still exchange it if i run into trouble.

If you purchased the phone on a site like Kijiji, you're out of luck. Telus likely won't honor the warranty as you are not the original owner. If you know the seller, then you could arrange for them to handle things for you, but again, no guarantees.

This is actually why when I give my Storm to my boyfriend in the next little while, we'll be reactivating it under my account or at the very least, I'll be going in to my Telus dealer with him to ensure the warranty is passed on. Like that, I'm sure there will be no problems getting the warranty. The reason for this is that most warranties are not transferable.

Unfortunately, this is a risk you take by buying any electronics off other people.

Thanks for your reply, I think its probably risky to buy a touch screen BB without the warranty..thanks again.
