OH Yea! almost forgot, is my Alltel Curve 8330 BIS or BES and what exactly are they?

I have a 8330 on Telus and did the fix last winter and it worked great. Question though. In May I was in Florida and could not get a good lock. I will be going to LV next month and was hoping to have GPS while there.

Does anyone know, while in the US, can I just switch to a US carriers (such as Verizon) settings and have working GPS? I assume that when I get back to Canada, I will again have to switch back to Telus' settings.

OK, so I didn't get a chance to change it. But, once again, I had no GPS accuracy using Google Maps on my 8330 (1700m). My wife as well, had low accuracy on her 9780 (300m). I uninstalled BB maps on my phone ages ago, but wife still has it. Could the problem actually be with google maps and not my GPS?
