Default Network Coverage issue

Hey guys,

I have a Storm 2 and have had major issues with reception since I moved to my new place. I've called telus several times to ask about it and they basically told me that the area i've moved too is in a grey zone with the existing CDMA network and they can't do anything about it.

Is there anything I can do/ask for?

No. There's nothing that you can do or they will do. You will have to wait until they eventually upgrade the network support in the new area you moved to.

Thats just it though, because its the old CDMA network, they have said they have no plans on upgrading it. So I'm screwed unless I buy a HSPA phone??

With Telus in the Toronto area is pretty ty to begin with, never had success with their coverage almost anywhere I've been in Canada. Rogers and Bell are the only ones I have actually had success getting almost impecable coverage areas

I live in brampton and dropped calls are a frequent occurrence. And much like what u said they can't do anything about it generally you have to suck it up. I'm on the 3G network though with the bold 9700. Its soo frustrating to find out from a technician over the phone they don't have towers in the best postions or at all in that area (Brampton Missisauga). If anyone's Suffering like I am plz feel free to through in their 2 cents.

Coverage is very subjective. You may have great coverage, yet your friend a few miles away (in the same city) may have zero coverage.

There are many variables, such as whether it's CDMA or HSPA, (they travel and penetrate bldgs. differently) how many towers are near you, how many other people are on the same tower, etc.

If coverage where you live work and play is that bad, maybe email a record of your dropped calls, botched texts, delayed emails and such every month for a few months. Then you have a record of your subpar service and they can't claim to be unaware of it.
Eventually this might help you avoid the ETF if you decide to part ways with them.
Though they might prefer to give you a credit on your account instead of losing you.
