Default Keep Telus Loaner Phone?

Hey everyone,

I just had a question that I was curious if anyone had an answer to or if anyone found themselves in a similar situation before.

I had purchased the pearl 9100 a little over a month ago and the right side convenience key wasn't working so I took it back to the Telus dealer. They gave me a loaner phone to use in the mean time and took a $150 dollar deposit from me.

The loaner phone they gave me was a like new bold 9700. To me, this phone would be well worth the $150. If I were to just keep the phone and say it was damaged/lost or something, would there be any other negative effects on my account and would I still get my pearl back?

Thanks!

Matt

They will probably charge you the full retail price and send your phone back to you.

I agree. The $150 is just a damage deposit to cover if you break a cover or something like that. They'd probably put the charge right on your bill and cancell services if not paid (hard to use the service if said phone is gone) and they can kill the esn making it usless.

Not worth destroying your credit with them for the risk.

Like the previous posters have indicated you will get your Pearl back and for sure you will get the full retail price of the 9700 on your next monthly bill. Also even if you don't you pretty much pay 150 for the phone and when they blacklist it, it is useless anyways. So its not worth the risk at all

If you say you lost the phone, they are to charge 400$ i think. and you still get your pearl back. Usually they give you something that you signed about the deposit and it written on it.

Since they gave you the loaner as a courtesy, it would be wise to be courteous and return it to them as you agreed.

It wouldn't hurt to ask if they would let you keep it for the deposit price...

If you say it was lost or broken, it would just be deactivated anyway.

The can block the imei and blacklist the pin so you can use it on another carrier but will not be able to email/bbm/internet ... If i were you I would give it back .,. As TheScionicMan stated "Since they gave you the loaner as a courtesy, it would be wise to be courteous and return it to them as you agreed."
