    Cool HSPA+ Network in Manitoba

Does anyone have any updates on Telus' HSPA network in Manitoba. I know that Winnipeg is live, but they wont sell the new phones here yet. I called into upgrade my Pearl to a Torch and the only option was to switch to an Alberta number and service would be limited to Winnipeg only.

They couldn't give me a date for the network to be in place for the rest of Manitoba. Saskatchewan is in place and running now.

Anyone have any news? The wait for the Torch is driving me crazy.

Thanks. I know they have service in Winnipeg, but they haven't launched the network in Manitoba yet. This means that they wont sell any phones except the old CDMA ones.

I'm with telus and the only reason I haven't switched is because of the good plan I have

If your contract is over, why don't you just switch over to Rogers? They tend to have the better phones and will likely end up rolling out LTE before the other carriers too....

I am in the same boat as you. I have a good plan.

I got in when the data unlimited plan was $9.99 per month. My phone is ready for an upgrade now, but I will wait for the new network. I also have a $100 credit on my account if I choose to stay. The credit will be applied to a new phone when they become avaliable.

How'd you end up getting a 100$ credit on your account? I'm just curious!

I had read some threads that mentioned the unlimited data plan was not transferable to the new HSPA network. I'm not sure what happened with that but it might be something to keep in mind if it's true.. I've only heard winter 2011 for the HSPA but who knows...

I'm just hoping for wicked reception with this new network.. The cdma reception has always been terrible inside my house..

If you cry loud enough, you get anything.
