Default Can it be done?

I am VERY curious if it is possible to use an unlocked Storm 2 on the new Telus HSPA??? Reason why I asked is cause when I unlocked my Storm 1, I was able to use it on Rogers network with no issues what so ever. I know the "SIM CARD" in Telus's BlackBerry's are roaming SIM CARDS. But I'm very curious if I get my Storm 2 unlocked and purchased a new HSPA sim card from Telus will I be able to use the new network??? Reason why I don't try with my Storm one is cause it will cost me more money to transfer my service BACK to the Storm 1 and if don't work, more money to get it back to my Storm 2... Whew, that's a lot of mumbling lol... Any ideas?

Hi Kryngle,

Unfortunately it can't be done. The reason for this is that the Storm2 only works on EDGE in North America as it lacks the required 3G GSM bands. Because it can't connect via 3G, it won't work with Telus' HSPA network (which is backwards compatible with 3G, but not EDGE). Unlocked Storm and Storm2 devices will work on Rogers or Fido because they can connect to Rogers' EDGE network.

Anyhow, sorry for the bad news, but if you want a Storm2 on Telus, you need to get a Telus branded one (you can buy used, assuming that everything is legit, but it has to be a Telus Storm2).

I hope that makes sense!
