Default Bold 9700 SOS Issue

I am having an issue with my Bold 9700 with Telus

When at Home poor reception, and it goes into this SOS mode, but when it goes in i have to reset the connection as it will not leave the mode it self no matter if i was to cross the country, i live in the city.

Have swamped out Sim Card, No Luck

Brought another 9700 home from work with different sim card, same problem

Updated the OS, .442, no luck, before or after

Just downloaded this program called FixSOS to see if that works, but really would just like the phone to work properly, but did not seem to work

Thanks Troy

Try changing the connection settings to 3G only. You can do this under "Manage Connections."

Hopefully that will help and that's really the first starting point. If it doesn't work, then call Telus for assistance. They may be able to do something on their end, or they may simply give you a replacement.

You know, I am having the same problem too. I just unlocked a T-Mobile 9700put in the Telus sim card and get SOS. With a T-Mobile card the phone works.

Ok... hopefully they're able to figure it out. It could also be that the tower that's in your area isn't functioning correctly. If they have other people with the problem, they will likely do something to the tower to boost the signal.

Now then, just as an alternative for testing purposes (if you're willing to try this), there was a new Bold 9700 OS leaked today. Try installing that and see if you notice any improvement. It's possible that the radio file on your phone is not working well with your phone. If the phone works better with the new OS, then you can choose if you'd like to stay on that, or you can give that info to the rep for troubleshooting purposes (he'll likely need you to downgrade to the official OS again though as they technically can't support non-official OSes).

A Telus SIM card will never work in a T-Mobile phone since they have different 3G frequency and Telus doesn't support 2G. That phone simply will not work on the Telus network.
