bold 9000 on telus

Will an unlocked bold work on Telus? I have read that some people have luck and some do not.

I am asking cause I am going to send my phone to a friend to replace her old Pearl that she had issues with. I wanted to know what I was getting into before I send it since I will be doing the troubleshooting for her.

It should as it's a 3G phone that uses the same bands as Telus' HSPA network. From what I've been told, it will work, or at least it should if it's an AT&T Bold (TMobile phones won't work as they use different radio bands).

Be sure to contact AT&T in advance though to ensure they release the PIN so that she can use it on Telus. That's where users typically have problems.

krypto thank you for the advice. I did call yesterday and requested an unlock code. Before I send the phone to Canada I will call and ask them to release it.
