Default Blackberry died, warranty question

Something is wrong with my bold and it won't turn on. I've had problems with the battery since I got the phone 6 months ago, but I never felt it was bad enough to bring it in to get it fixed, but now it won't even turn on.

My question: If I bring the phone into a Telus centre, does it have to be the same one I bought the phone from? The problem is that I got this phone and contract while I was attending school in a different province and will have to go to a different store now.

I'll be going tomorrow, but I wanted to see what you guys would say first.

Thanks.

You could always call them up first and verify.

Hopefully someone with Telus can drop by, and confirm it can be any store to switch the device out.

All my friends with Telus gave up tryign to take it back to a store as its so hard to find a corporate store. Most Telus stores are dealers and most dealers will only deal with their customers. Otherwise, they give you a big run around. My suggestion is call Telus' customer service and tell them your problem and they will send a replacement through the mail and you just send your old one back, at least thats how my friends have all been doing their exchanges.

I don't see a problem. Had you bought it online through Telus then they can send it out to a corporate store. That's what they did with me, I bought mine with somebody's Telus ID's employee program. Had it just over a month when it died and the local Telus dealer gave me a crappy non bb clam shell replacement phone until they sent me a refurb. Been a workhorse ever since.

I had to claim my Storm 1 three times in the first year under warranty. I didn't bring it back to the store I bought it from. Although it was always in the same province/city at least. No problem at all with run-around. In each case they filed a claim and within 10 days I had a new phone to be picked up.. well a new refurb that is. Luckily for me, 4th time was a charm
