BB Social 40 apps

So I have a 9700 with telus on the Blackberry Social 40 plan. With this plan my data consists of "social" apps, so facebook, twitter, windows live, myspace. Well thats according to the telus website. I had called them before because I wanted to check twitter(didn't show as social app on website) and the girl on the phone basically said "if it works then you can use it under your plan", as it locks you out of email and browsing.

So my question is anyone know if thats true?

Like I just tried and I can use gtalk. On the flipside I can't use the native browser, when I try it says its wifi only. However I have tried and been successful at using another app to get on the net.

So anyone know exactly what apps are covered on telus' bb social?
I don't plan on running these services (gtalk, and opera mini) a lot.

wait, social 40? does that mean you're paying $40 for only the social networking stuff? I used to have social networking only too, and it was only $15, and now I have 500mb data for $25.

Just curious, sorry this doesn't really answer your question. I had the same problem/question when I was using the social networking add on as well.

The plan is the following:
100 anytime minutes
100 bonus minutes
Social Apps
Unlimited texting
my 5 nation
VM
9pm eve/weeks

its about $45 including taxes.

Could have gotten the eve/weekends down to 6pm if I signed 3 year but I didn't. I'm on 1 yr and already have the BB unlocked.

You can download apps for which you have the service books, but other apps will cost you for the download (unless you're connecting via wifi, then I think it is ok). Telus does lock you out of the browser and email by not sending you the service books for those, but the others wouldn't be locked down, so you could be charged for those. My suggestion is to check your data usage online. You can see there whether you're being charged for anything. It generally shows up right away.
