9700 network vs iphone3gs

hi guys just wondering how the coverage is for the 9700 on telus?
My gf has the iphone3gs and has barely any reception anywhere she goes and its a real pain. we have switched it already but still no resolution... Called telus and they told us its the towers that are not up yet and that even if we get the 9700 it will have the same issue...

Can someone give me feedback on this?
I just want to know if thats really the matter at the end and cant do nothing at all..

It really depends on where you're located and where the cell towers are located around you. Are you in a small town or in a larger city?

I think the Bold has slightly better reception than the iPhone, but will it be enough of a difference??? If you're willing to let us know where you're located, maybe someone can provide more insight.
