Default Wirefly - T-Mobile FREE 9700 renew/upgrade

Wirefly has a deal where you can renew your contract and get the BB 9700 for free. I called to upgrade my 8320 to the 9700 and keep my existing plan which is Unlimited Loyalty $49.99 and BB unlimited web/e-mail $19.99 with 400 text messages for $5 which I am grandfathered in and I do not want to loose. I was told since my plan was "old" they could only give me the $59.99 Unlimited plan.

Has anyone upgraded there phone with Wirefly and able to keep there exisiting plan?

That's probably the only way they can afford to offer it at that price. They probably only get their full commission from TMO if they update you to a newer plan, which means the $100 Even More unlimited. Your best bet would be to get it at a corporate store instead and keep your current rates.

I've heard that Wirefly often makes people change their plans to newer, more expensive options.

I have Unlimited Loyalty too and so I upgraded through T-Mo for $149. Not free, but I'd rather keep my plan.

If you're upgrading through T-Mo don't automatically accept the upgrade price for the phone. When I frowned and said I wasn't really interesting in paying that much since I could still just use my 8900 they asked me to wait while they checked if they could do a better price. I ended up only paying $85 for my 9700.

If you've had TMO for 3+ years, it's at least worth a call to see if they can offer you better pricing. It does depend on tenure though

I have been with T-Mobile for over 4 years and they would not give me anything better than what is advertised on there website. I will call again this week and see if they change there minds. Besides Memorial Day weekend is this weekend and maybe they will have a special.
