Did they give you a reason why? I'm sorry about the theft of your phone.

Certain third party insurance companies over cover physical/liquid damage. This mean no loss or theft. Perhaps Wirefly's provider is one of them

SquareTrade is the same way. No loss/theft coverage. You should check the FAQ on the site just to be sure.

I'm so sorry this happened!!

It sounds like there's a little loophole...

They cover theft but not 100%. As in, they'll look at the circumstances of WHY your phone was stolen and if they feel that you were being stupid with it (like leaving it out in plain sight unattended) then they are going to say that you were negligiant and won't cover you. If you told them the truth (it was stolen from my backpack) it sounds like they are thinking "well, you shouldn't have kept it in there unattended!" and won't cover you.

It seems there is a difference between getting something stolen when you're not careful (leaving it out somewhere) and getting something stolen when you are (you have the phone in your car, your car is broken into, etc.)

I've honestly never seen a company do this but I'm not surprised.

If that's the case, that's poor service on their part. I'm assuming they don't cover flat out loss then, because it's the phone owner's fault? Seems like they're reserving the right to split hairs. Do I need to show them a picture of my smashed car window for them to cover it?
