Default WiFi Question

Hi folks. Currently in Toronto at my wife's family's house. I turned off my Mobile Network under Manage Connections and just left my wifi on so I could use their home wireless network. Also under mobile network options, I selected "connecton preference: wifi only". My homepage header still says Tmobile on it though along with the wireless ssid name. Am I safe to assume that I am only using the wifi network? Is receiving emails/texts going to get me roaming charges? Sorry if this has been asked before. Not sure exactly how it works.

Yep as long as you have the mobile network turned off and "connection preference" set to wifi only you are good to go. You will be running over wifi only at that point and would be safe to make calls/texts without being charged intl roaming.

Best way to check is, after you've changed your settings, go back to Manage Connections and make sure your Wireless is OFF. Also, when you are connected to Wi-Fi, it should say (example) T-Mobile - ACTIONTEC. Your Wi-Fi symbol will show up and your signal should turn to a red dot and red signal indicator...

When you are on Wi-Fi, you shouldn't be charged for roaming.

Hope this helps
