Nice how they are charging for a service that was previously free.

Tethering was never included on the Android plans. Unfortunately, TMO is charging because all the others are. A large portion of the wireless pricing structure is imitation.

Yeah it's sort of sad.

Call me naive but other carriers had offered tethering at a steep price for a LONG time now (years) and T-Mobile never even mentioned charging for it, so I thought it would never happen. I know some WinMo phones were sent with instructions on how to set up tethering.

I resigned and was blocked in three days.. went from mt3g to mt4g and I have been tethering for years I was a lil upset to say the least.

I have spoofed UA on both Firefox 3.6.3 and IE8 and here I am!! This is the UA String for MyTouch 4g, they won't block "my phone" You can get your string off your phone by visiting www enhanceie.com/ua.aspx good luck!

I agree. The wireless industry, among other industries, feed off of one another. If a carrier finds a new source of revenue and doesn't lose half of their customer base implementing it, others will adopt it. Fees are commonplace in many industries because it's a way to trick people who shop on cost alone. If the majority of consumers seriously considered other factors besides price, I can almost guarantee that the number of add-on fees would be greatly reduced across the board
