Default When a blackberry doesn't have data, browser & email not show?

I recently fixed up a blackberry and added my girlfriend to my brother and I's family plan. It only costed like $5 more each month to add the extra line.

My question is though, since her line doesn't have data, does the blackberry know that? Meaning it doesn't show a browser icon and an email icon (including the email setup icon?)

Because I just recently updated the OS on the blackberry and I don't see a browser icon or email & email setup icon. I read in previous threads about going to the "Host Routing Table" and hitting the menu key and selecting "Register Now" will bring up the browser icon. I also read to re-send service books in the email or email setup, but that is not possible when there is no icon. This is why I came here to ask if those icons even show up if the phone and line doesn't have a data plan on it.

Thanks!

It will not show it without a data plan.

I think it depends on the BlackBerry. I know the Bold 9700 shows everything without a data plan.

Wifi enable BB's may show things, and you can use WiFi to surf the web.

When I first got my 8320 I didn't have a data plan at first and all browser icons showed.

I have an 8320 also, but the browser and email/email setup are not showing, I don't have data on this line. Does anyone know how to fix this? As I stated before,

BUMP, need some help on this please.

This line doesn't have data, but it can pick up wifi (correct?). So how can I get the browser icon and email + email setup to show on desktop?

Thanks
