    Default What are the pros/cons of an unlocked 9810 on T-Mo?

    im gonna need a little help. im planning to buy blackberry torch 9810 at best buy or maybe radioshack but i dont wanna have a plan with AT&T. I dont have t-mobile also but i wanted to get a plan from them as soon as i get my bb torch. the only problem is i kinda have some doubts of buying or unlocking it because i dont know what will work and wont work once i get a plan with tmobile with my unlocked bb torch. so if any of you know the cons anf pros of getting a plan with tmobile with an unlocked bb torch please let me know.

    BTW. i like txting and using web alot so i would want to have unlimited on those things. i dont really call as much. how much do you guys think would it costs a month if i get unlimited txt and web and maybe 500 mins?

    In order to get all the features working with unlocked torch...you will need t-mobile service book and you can search that from this forum.
    con would be slow internet speed

    There's two different versions of the Torch 9810.

    The one for AT&T wil not get 3G/4G on T-Mobile
    THe one for T-Mobile will not get 3G/4G on AT&T
    Blackberry 10 > Windows Phone 7/8 > Blackberry 7 > iOS > Android > Symbian > WebOS > Meego

    can i just ask why is that so? would you happen to know if a unlocked blackberry from singapore be able to work on either at&t or t-mobile?

    T-Mobile operates on a different wireless band, making their hardware slightly incompatible with T-Mobile's (think of it like listening to radio, but one radio is locked to one station and another radio is locked into a different station).

    I really have no idea why they don't just make pentaband devices that support ALL HSPA bands.

    That being said; Signapore uses the Eurasian standard frequency; which means that either version would work if you were to bring one to Singapore.

    But since you're bring a device FROM SIngapore; you would have the more common version; which will not work on T-Mobile USA (just AT&T)

    ah okay, thanks a bunch. I guess i might have to get a new blackberry there.
