Default What exactly does the texting plan include?

Hi I have an unlocked Storm and am on the T-Mobile unlimited texting plan. In the plan I know SMS and MMS are included, but the rep also told as that IM'ing was included as well. Does this include BBM? How about other messengers such as AOL or Yahoo? Thanks for reading and hope someone can give me some more insight since the website is a bit confusing on how they word the plan.

Unlimited texting plan only includes texting, SMS and MMS.

BBM, AOL, Yahoo, Gtalk ect use data, so you would need the BIS data plan to use these features.

On older Blackberries (and phones in general), IMing would use up texts, not data. I remember this because I used to have a Razr with VZW and when I would use AIM on it, I was charged for txts only, not data.

I think this is why the rep said that it includes "IMs".

However now, with newer phones, all that IMing and BBMing costs data, not texts. Texting plans only cover SMS/MMS.

Hey you learn something new everyday. I had no idea about the IM thing changing. I guess because I have BB and data now. But I did get the free IM with my old phone a few years ago with my text package
