No need to leave TMO for an iPhone...buy a jailbroken one and you can use it on TMO's network. I have two on my account and they work great!

What are you other reasons for wanting to cancel? Do you like the service?

Just get an iphone outright and get it unlocked. After paying the ETF from T-Mobile then switching, activation fees, etc. you may be close to breaking even, of course if you are looking at the iphone 3GS, then I think the retail on that one might be steep.

YMMV.

Just make sure you'll get decent coverage and read the fine print. You could be paying a significant amount more over the life of that iphone contract on ATT.

The Early Termination Fee is part of our rates and is not a penalty. The Early Termination Fee applies only to the extent permitted by law. If you bought your wireless Device from an independent T-Mobile dealer or other third-party vendor, they may charge a separate termination fee.
read them carefully cuz i kept checking them when I had 2 months left on my contract and they changed them a few times within that time period. I'm over on AT&T now and very happy.

Personally I dont think you would like Att any better. They are too expensive in my opinion.mBut then, I have a grandfathered plan from SunCom, and I couldnt afford Tmobile if I had to pay their price for what I have. In a nutshell, I have 5 lines Unlimited talk & message on all 5, plus 2 of my lines have unlimited data and email, for under 200 dollars. Im a little bias to tmobile, and i cant ever see me leaving them. But even if i had to start brand new, i still like tmobile over att.

T-Mobile's area coverage is sub par to ATT in the panhandle of Florida. I hardly ever have service and I'm terming my plan early. I have a year left also but I can show that where I live doesn't have a T-Mobile tower in site so I'm not having to pay to get rid of it.

Just in time for the lower iPhone prices!

Agree with you 100%... Not only the pan handle but the South West area as well. In my case I loose 3 out of every 5 calls due to poor coverage. I hear TMobile uses the same antenas as ATT, but I never had a dropped call happen to me when I had Cingular/ATT down here from 04 to 07

Ive used Tmo in Pensacola with no problem.

Pensacola is a large city... Ft. Walton Beach, Destin, and Niceville all suck when you leave the main parts of town... Eglin AFB makes it hard for towers to be put up.

No carrier is perfect and all carriers have their weaknesses in certain areas. With that said, AT&T is consistently rated as the worst carrier in the nation. Consumer Reports just released their latest evaluations and once again, AT&T came in dead last.

I don't know a soul who uses AT&T who has a kind word about them.

Look before you jump. The grass is rarely greener on the other side.
