Default Want to buy the 9900 for less than the 299.99 after MIR price?

Just ask nicely.

I've been with tmobile for 4 years and called to negotiate the price down to 199.99 before MIR. I was out of contract and that helped, but it's best to go in with a good attitude and deal with customer retention.

Initially, i was talking to a CSR and she transferred me over to either sales or customer retention. The rep agreed that the pricing was ridiculous and gave me the phone for 199 before MIR. Makes my total come out to 150.00

On top of that, she told me I could save money by switching my account over to a new Unlimited plan for 79.99 a month. I was coming off a grandfathered Unlimited loyalty plan. After taxes and corporate discount, I will be paying about 92.00/month for everything.

We all know the price will eventually drop. But if you don't want to pay that price, call and ask. They'll take in account your loyalty, account status, etc.

Good luck

Its like that in any business. Just be nice to customer service reps and they'll give you some good deals.

I have a hard time believing this. I spoke with 10 different departments yesterday and nobody would sell me the phone for less then 349! I've been with T-Mobile since 2003 also.

When I asked to speak to the retention department they said they would only transfer me over there if I was wanting to disconnect my service...they refused to even let me speak to a supervisor as well. T-Mobile customer care has gotten really bad this year since the AT&T crap was announced, they just don't seem to care anymore about the customer and are quite rude and nasty on the phone.

That's ok though, I have a trick up my sleeve to get my money back from this phone after I receive it, suck it to them like they sucked it to us!

I was surprised that I was able to obtain a cheaper price on my first try as well. I guess just keep trying if you don't like the answers you've received.

I wasn't up for a full upgrade and got THE NICEST rep the first time I called to see if they would give the upgrade price anyway. I did ask to see if there was any way the price could be lowered but he said no.

but! I did get free shipping... eh lol

The magic word (when you ask for a discount) is "Verizon"

I believe it because they actually gave me a better deal. I've been with them for well over 4yrs and was on an old loyalty plan but my contract was ending tomorrow. I just honestly told them that my options are completly open meaning I wouldn't have any penalties if I take another companies better offer although I would love to stay with t-mobile. After telling me it would be $350 with a $50 MIR the CSR tranferred me over to either sales or retention.

I was first offered 300+ tax the MIR would be an instant $50 savings and no $18 activation fee, I said that's still a bit much for a full 2yr contract. She said the most they are able to discount it is $250 the $300+taxes would be $332.05, minus the $250 that leaves me paying a total of $82.05 for the BB Bold 9900 and I was also moved to a cheaper rate plan. I'm a very happy camper

In a few weeks T-Mobile will be releasing both the Samsung Galaxy S II and the HTC Amaze, both are 1.5 GHz dual-core phones and are priced LESS than the 9900...unbelievable!!!

I just stopped by the wireless store at my local (Waltham, MA) Costco, and the sign shows $229.99 with a new contract. That's quite a bit lower than the current T-Mobile price. Unfortunately for me, the upgrade price is higher, at $260 or $270 (don't remember exact number). Time to give TMO retentions a call ...

I had my brother try this since his contract is up and he's dying for the 9900, but when he called T-Mobile they said they are sold out of the 9900.

I wonder if they are just saying that so they don't have to give it up for $299.99 and want him to pick it up at a brick and morter store....

I just got off the phone with retentions and I just picked mine up for 161 with a 50 MIR. Pretty stoked right now. I can't wait for it to come in.
