| | VERY UPSET WITH TMOBILE, I would like everyones opinion
OK. First off, I know this is my fault because I got way too excited when the 8900 was available, I bought the phone(upgraded and billed online)about 45 days ago now and the problem is that I believe I got the worst deal in history on the phone. I paid $409 plus a $18 activation fee(which I have been told can not be waived). Is it too late to do anything, I received the bill yesterday and it isnst due for about a week but I really feel slapped in the face! I have three lines with Tmobile and been a customer for 7 years! Besides the obvious that I totally screwed up, do any of you think there is something I cam do now. After a call with Tmobile I got no help at all....

I wasn;t due for an upgrade, I just wanted the phone. Doesn't this happen to everyone? I just didn't ask for anything better...again my fault. Even folks I have talked to recently have paid $149 and split it between 4 bills just to keep the phone bill down. I feel like I have been slapped in the face. All they keep saying is that I agreed to the terms online. I feel like they are really saying GOTTCHA!!!!!! Seven years and they rub it on my face that I upgraded online. I am so p###ed off.

Call T-Mo and ask them about their return policy. Ask them if they have $30 day money back guarantee. Just tell them what you posted here, minus the "slapped in the face" bit and the "p###ed off" stuff.

You bought the phone while not eligible for the discounted pricing thus the $400 price. The $149 price for customers who are able to get the full discount. You have 14 days from the day you receive the phone to return it without any obligation. After day 14 you own the phone, no returns.
Looks like you are stuck with the phone or you can sell it on ebay.

Oh, I didn't realize you had it for 45 days already.... In that case, you just need to beg them to give you the upgrade price. I doubt they would take the phone back.
Once again, but calm on the phone. Maybe cry a little.

Don't even waste yours or their time anymore...they won't take a phone back that you've had for 45 days and you won't be getting the price reduced.
Do you try to return a product to a store 45 days after you've purchased it? They'd laugh at you. Do you go into a store crying that you paid too much for something and want the lower price 45 days after originally purchasing? They'd laugh at you.
So, when you call T-Mobile and ask for the same thing don't be surprised if they laugh at you as well.

I am in no way trying to return the phone, I would never do that. I personally have spoken to 13 people who bought their phone the same time I did and that were not up for an upgrade or discount either, they did however get the special pricing, only a couple also got a rebate. I do not want TMO to take back the phone. I love my 8900. if they wanted it back they will have to cut my hand off that is attached to my phone. I just want the same consession they offered other folks......

Call T-mobile during normal business hours, get a live operator and ask to speak to the Customer Retention Department. When you speak to customer retention, explain the situation calmly. Remind them you've been with t-mobile for 7 years, and you think that should count for something. Even if you can't get the $149 deal now, they still might be able to knock a few dollars off the phone price, or give you a break on your monthly bill. Customer retention can do things that regular customer service can't.

They only did what you asked. You asked to get first in line and get one of the very first 8900s sold ahead of the majority of others. Everyone knows that if you want to be first in line, you are going to pay top price for it.
Now after you've enjoyed the phone for longer than most anyone else, you want to renegotiate your deal. Does that really sound fair?
I just bought my 8900 a couple of weeks ago for the $149 price. When T-Mobile introduces the Driftwood 3G in the fall, should I then demand a return of my $149 because I feel I should get a better deal?
You wanted the first 8900 available. You got it. Next time remember that if you don't want to pay a premium price, you might want to wait until the phone cools down and the price stablizes.
T-Mobile did exactly what you asked them to do.

I don't disagree. The problem is that other people in my same situation got the deal. I know at this point I am probably stuck. That's why I wanted all the great people in crackberry to share their opinions with me. I have many times paid all the money for the new phone. I don't really lose out because I have the 8900!!! I just would appreciate the same deal as other people got in my situation. I really like tmobile, I am not trying to slam them. I didn't want it to sound like I was. Thanks for your opinions everyone!! I love this website!
