You want data without paying for it? Hopefully I'm missing something...

I'm pretty sure you need to pay for data in order to get data, most apps won't work w/o a plan. Wifi is free but I don't think most apps will work with wifi. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

How do you get a verizon phone to work with TMO service? Where do you plug in the sim card?

The Tour is a world phone. CDMA/GSM hybrid. Anyway, the only way you'll be able to use any kind of data is with WiFi enabled phones, which I don't believe the Tour is. Tour2 was supposed to have it, but now that project was scrapped.

Not true. Data on the Storm/Storm2 works fine wit some tweaks. Same with the Tour. I had one that worked fine, just took some work.

Myveggies - The Tour and Storm are unique in that they are quad-band GSM in addition to CDMA.

There needs to be some sort of data plan on the account to get data, you just can't magically get data for free, even if you have service books. Some apps will work with the universal data plans.

You won't be able to get any data on a Tour without a data plan. The Tour does not have Wi-Fi.

There is no Wi-Fi available on the Tour. The only thing that will work on it without a data plan is voice/SMS. MMS will not work either, since that requires the data plan. Without a data plan, the Tour will do nothing more than a dumb phone.
