Question Verizon "Droid"

Hey All,
just curious, how many of you have a friend that has kicked there BB to the curb for the "Droid". I have asked why they have let there BB go, andd the response i got was:
" BB has nothing compared to the Droid when it comes to Apps"

I personally am a faithful fan of BB. Simply because it's so user friendly. My question is:
are there any BB user that feel RIM is out of it's prime when it comes to Apps? is Rim in danger of loosing alot of clients due to the droid?

Well...

I am currently "almost" in this boat....

I have been a Blackberry user for about 10 years and yes I do love my BB.....

But, I find myself torn on the "app front".

I believe BB is just not opened up enough to allow the good app's to flow....

I know this is a business device, but because I travel so much, I am constantly disappointed in the lack of app's....

So, I am currently looking towards the "droid" future...

Not ready to jump yet.... but after seeing the disappointing attention given the STORM, I think it might be time....

I love BB but I agree - BB doesn't have as good as apps.

The thing is, the app store is a PAIN to use, it doesn't seem like many apps are comings out, and many are expensive. It seems that lots of BB ppl are "waiting" to see an app for a certain function (ie wifi hotspot) while with Android OS, people are always cranking new ones out!

Yes perhaps this is more suited to the "General" section in the BB forums.

I agree entirely. BB is lacking in a lot of areas, IMO. Not as bad as the iPhone, (BB had picture messaging prior to 2009) but still missing features. Apps are a big drawing point for Android, and part of the reason I carry an Android device alongside my BB. I feel AppWorld is inferior in both quantity and quality of programs compared to the Android Market. BBs are solid devices, and they do certain tasks very well, but I don't consider them a truly competitive smartphone because of numerous shortcomings.

If you want a droid but also want to stay on the TMO network, then buy droid for full retial from Telus in Canada, their Droid is the GSM version. However you will not be able to receive 3G on TMO as Telus uses different 3G bands. The phone does have wifi calling.
