Default Using BB Storm 2 on T-Mobile

Hello, Guys & Girls,

I'm seriously considering switching from Verizon to t-mobile and I want to use my storm 2. I've read all the post from others who have switched over using their storms and I also have my unlock code from Verizon. My question is has anyone switched over recently and will the internet speed be at least "tolerable" I dont expect it to be as fast as Verizon's but I don't want to wait 5 minutes for a page to load either.

You will not be able to take advantage of T-Mobile's 3G network with your Storm. You will only be able to access EDGE speeds at most with is comparable to 2-2.5G.

I typically just run EDGE when at work or out on the town & wifi @ home. I have good 3G service where I live, but weak 3G where I work so that it toggles back & forth & ends up running the battery down. When surfing over EDGE, it typically takes about 7-10 seconds for a page to load.

BTW - I'm also looking to get an unlocked Storm 2 @ some point just to play around on .

the edge is nice, and the speeds feels like 3G. well.... enough for t-mobile's 3G.

I have a Storm 2, used it until I got my 9700. I had pretty decent internet speed on T-Mobile. Its about 75% as quick as my Bold w/ 3G.....if that makes sense. Haha

Well I did it... Unlocked the storm 2 and ported my number from verizon. I gotta say I'm happy with the internet speed and how easy it was, Didn't have to install any service books or anything added data plan and requested host table from advance options and resent service books and was it. Phone works as well as when I was with verizon. Glad to be back home.

a little tip
when you decide to switch to a different phone, don't throw away your storm
you can still use bbm with wifi, and no account registered
"wink"
